A chance message on the Frome page of facebook got everyone talking – here it is. We are now OPEN – offering free warm coats for anyone who needs one. The door is unlocked between 8am & 8pm, 7 days a week.
Check out the Facebook page here www.facebook.com/FromeCoatRack.
Food waste is endemic in the UK. Check out this project, now residing in one of the Loop de Loop cubicles https://www.facebook.com/communityfridgefrome/
The food kiosk is currently being run by Mahesh – the pop-up Lungi Baba’s cafe. See their website & food philosophy HERE.
Typical menu – Lipsmacking curries containing cauliflowers, potatos, green beans, butternut squash and tomatoes- get your 5 a day Lungi Babas style! Plus a protein boost of blackeyed bean curry, yummmm…..with rice and a bhaji on the side.
Open Wed – Sat lunchtimes.
A slight glitch means that the kiosk didn’t open at Easter as planned. We need to find someone keen to run the cafe and open at least each market day – Wednesday & Saturday, plus each Independent Market.
Rates are very reasonable & there is ample equipment, fridges, freezer, oven, coffee machine etc. There are plenty of chairs & tables plus a gazebo, and the space outside can look really lovely and attract plenty of custom in the heart of our lovely market town. Contact Katy on firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like more details. Check out this page for details.
Cafe Loop de Loop in action
Check out the new tenant to arrive in the Cafe Loop de Loop. Local sausage roll makers, based in Mells, opened the new-look kiosk on Wednesday 23rd April. They serve the usual teas & Mozzo coffee plus the best sausage rolls in the South West. A fantastic addition to our lovely town.
For details of the sausage rolls, press, markets and how to order home deliveries, check out Little Jack Horner’s website.
Three new showcases for your delectation – we have Frome Textile Workshop, ceramicist Jenny Barton & sculptor / wire artist Fiona Campbell displaying their wonderful stuff. Come & see them and Jenson Button on Friday 29th Nov and enjoy the switching on of the Xmas lights AND our fabulous glass blocks. Not yet repaired so only on show for the one evening, so be there!
A trio of showcases
Our latest Showcase is from sculptor & graphic designer Tim Beale. Stemming from a keen interest in folklore, fairy stories and mythology, Tim created these scenes from a variety of story sources from Grimm to Russian folk tales. See more of Tim’s work, including the Steampunk Extravaganza designs on his website here.
